Basics of Seismic Design - November 17 to 24, 2018 at TUM
The ATHENS Programme offers students and doctoral candidates the opportunity to stay abroad at 24 partner universities in Europe. Twice a year – in mid-March and mid-November – specialized courses take place at the same time at all ATHENS universities.
The Chair of Structural Mechanics in collaboration with the University of Pisa (Italy) organises a course on "Basics of Seismic Design" from November 17 to 24, 2018. The course is divided into:
- Theoretical seismic design (Dr. Francesca Taddei)
- Practical seismic Design (Dr. Linda Giresini)
- Modelling the Soil-structure interaction (SSI) for seismic design (Dr. Francesca Taddei)

Application period: July 9 to September 30, 2018
How to apply
- Select at least three courses at the participating partner universities
- Apply online via the ATHENS portal and upload the application documents to MoveON
- Nomination and confirmation by ATHENS coordinators
- Participate in the 30-hour intensive course incl. final exam
- Participate in the 10- to 15-hour European Dimension Program
- Upload an experience report to MoveON for the record of stay in the Diploma Supplement
