Ghang Lee is a Professor of Architecture and Architectural Engineering and the Director of the Building Informatics Group at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. His research spans building information modeling (BIM), interoperability, information requirements, quality management, and the integration of AI in construction.
Dr. Lee has developed a range of software and hardware systems, including the eXtended Process and Product Modeling (xPPM) tool, which supports the creation of information requirements based on ISO 29481 (IDM), the tower crane navigation system (TCVS), the smart exit sign system, and the construction listener—a chatbot designed for daily construction work management. He also developed NADIA, an AI-powered natural language tool for architectural detailing.
Prof. Lee has authored numerous papers and contributed to key publications, including the BIM Handbook. His distinguished work has earned him several prestigious accolades, including the Silver Medal from the President of Korea, the Commendation from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, and the Outstanding Research Achievement Award from Yonsei University, recognizing his significant contributions to research and education.
