Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jamshid Parvizian
DFG Research Professor

Jamshid Parvizian studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tehran, where he completed both his bachelor's and master's degrees. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London in 1996. Following his doctorate, he joined Isfahan University of Technology as a professor, a position he held until 2023.
Throughout his academic career, Professor Parvizian has been recognized multiple times with Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) grants, which enabled him to conduct research at leading institutions. He has also served as a guest professor at both the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH).
His primary research interests lie in automated manufacturing and computational mechanics, with a particular focus on the Finite Cell Method (FCM). His involvement in FCM dates back to his first research visit to TUM, when the method was initially developed. Currently, he holds the position of Research Professor, where he is actively working on advancing the Discontinuous Finite Cell Method (DFCM), exploring its applications in complex numerical simulations.
