Chair of Computing in Civil and Building Engineering
The Chair of Computing in Civil and Building Engineering is part of the TUM School of Engineering and Design and deeply integrated with the TUM Georg Nemetschek Institute and the Leonhard Obermeyer Center of Digital Methods for the Built Environment.
Our teaching and research focus lies on computational methods for the entire lifecylce of built facilities, covering the design, construction and operation phases.
The Chair is involved in teaching in the programs BSc/MSc Civil Engineering, BSc/MSc Environmental Engineering, MSc Information Technologies for the Built Environment and MSc Computational Mechanics.
Our research ranges from advanced methods of Building Information Modeling over Digital Twinning and Cyber-physical robotic construction, and includes graph-based computational design, the processing of point clouds, automated model generation, construction progress monitoring, additive manufacturing as well as pedestrian dynamics.
