BIM.projects winter term 24/25
This semester’s project involves designing an aquatic center for the TUM ZHS campus, to be built on the current football fields, covering approximately 28,000 square meters. The building itself should occupy at least 7,000 square meters and be positioned with attention to urban planning factors. The facility should include essential swimming facilities and seating for future sports events.
The main challenge this semester is not only addressing the architectural needs but also creating a detailed design for the wide-spanning roof structure that will cover the pools. The roof must be structurally sound and visually appealing, as well as addressing environmental considerations, such as incorporating low-carbon construction. Therefore, it requires the whole team to work together from the beginning of the semester. The final design should balance structural, aesthetic, and environmental aspects while offering beauty, comfort, and natural light in the swimming area.
