Summary
The aim of the research project is to compare ecological and economic influences of the construction methods and technical building equipment of affordable residential buildings in order to identify potentials for further development, realisation and undercutting cost ceilings. The research project builds on an already developed holistic analysis and evaluation approach and extends it by essential economic parameters. Only by using synergy effects between ecology and economy the housing problem can be realised with regard to the provision of affordable and sustainable housing. Within the project different construction methods are compared and evaluated with regard to their life cycle based economic and ecological potentials for affordable housing. Different solid construction types with pure wood construction as well as a wood-hybrid construction are analysed. In addition, different possible energy generation types as well as heat transfer systems of the technical building equipment and the space efficiency are examined under consideration of the component dimensions.
