Brief description of the project
In recent years, green facades have become increasingly important in terms of sustainable urban development. Only a small amount of knowledge is available on the fire behaviour of green facades and the resulting fire spread via the facades.
This research project is intended to provide information on the fire behaviour of facade greening, taking into account different systems and plant species, and to provide concrete guidelines or information for the targeted safe use of facade greening. These findings should enable the targeted use of facade greening throughout the country, taking into account the current safety level. The findings of this basic research project will be used both by representatives of building supervision and fire protection services to evaluate the fire protection risk assessment for green facades and by planners of green facades for the selection and development of safe green facades for future building projects.
