Just over a week ago, our chair organized two events at TUM.
On Wednesday, the 11th International Conference on Bridges in Danube Basin started with an excursion to Nuremberg to visit the AK Nürnberg Ost BW3-1 Overfly extradosed bridge and the bridge in Unterrieden. After a joint Bavarian reception on Wednesday evening, a day full of exciting technical presentations followed on Thursday at the Catholic Academy.
Thursday evening not only marked the start of the Munich Seminar on Concrete and Masonry Structures but also concluded the 11th International Conference on Bridges in the Danube Basin. In front of over 300 guests, the Munich Solid Construction Scholarship for outstanding academic achievements was presented to Claudia Fitterer and Stefan Becherer. Additionally, the Munich Solid Construction Prize for outstanding master's theses was awarded to Marius Eick and Dominik Gest by Uwe Willberg, chairman of the Förderverein Massivbau der TU München e.V. (Development Association for Concrete and Masonry Structures of the Technical University of Munich).
On Friday, in front of an audience of over 400, the Munich Solid Construction Seminar focused on twelve specialist lectures from research and practice. During the breaks, there was plenty of time for stimulating discussions and intensive professional exchange.
