3D Concrete Printing (3DCP) is taking the construction industry by storm due to its combined benefits relating to sustainability, productivity, health & safety, and design opportunities. The team for Extrusion-based Additive Manufacturing of Concrete studies the process aspects, mechanical properties, structural performance, and reinforcement strategies of this novel technology. The group operates its own 3DCP facility at the TUM Inner City main campus that distinguishes itself by an extensive process monitoring system and automated process operations that enable in-depth study of the material-process-product interactions. Furthermore, the group is involved in the TUM AMC lab in Achering, where alternative AM technologies are being developed, and part of the TUM.Additive Network.
