Additive Manufacturing in Construction (AMC) is revolutionizing the way we design and realize structures, enabling unprecedented geometric freedom and material efficiency. Our research focuses on structurally optimized design for 3D printing with concrete and metal, aiming to develop lightweight, high-performance constructions that fully leverage the potential of digital fabrication.
By integrating highly precise, node-based optimization methods with an efficient initial form-finding approach derived from graphic statics, we create load-bearing, material-efficient, and durable structures that minimize material consumption. Our work bridges the gap between cutting-edge design algorithms and real-world AMC applications, driving the development of sustainable and efficient construction methods.
