Partners' Meeting in Munich for DanubeSediment_Q2
The DanubeSediment_Q2 project partners convened for a two-day meeting at the Technical University of Munich from March 25–26, 2025 to review progress, discuss key objectives, and plan future activities.
Day 1: Project Review and excursion
The meeting commenced with the first-year project review in collaboration with the Interreg Danube Region Programme. This session provided an opportunity to assess the project’s achievements thus far and refine strategic priorities for the upcoming phases.
In the afternoon, participants made an excursion to a restored section of the Isar River, examining the site from a river restoration perspective despite adverse weather conditions. The day concluded with a networking dinner at Augustiner-Keller, where partners engaged in discussions over traditional Bavarian cuisine.
Day 2: In-Depth Discussions on Project Objectives
The second day featured detailed discussions on the progress and future direction of specific objectives of the project, including:
Sediment data collection across the Danube River Basin
Development of hydromorphological (HYMO) assessment and risk analysis methods
Multi-criteria analysis for selecting optimal sediment management strategies
Modeling of sediment transport dynamics at case study sites
Formulation of an Integrated Sediment Management Plan
The meeting fostered valuable exchanges among partners, reinforcing collaboration and alignment toward the project’s overarching goals.
A big thank you to all our partners for their hard work and commitment. It was great to come together, share insights, and refine our approach. We’re excited for the next phase of the project and look forward to continuing our collaboration to improve sediment management in the Danube Region!
