In August 2017, field work was carried out in Norway by PhD candidate Benjamin Jacobs as a follow up of the 2015 and 2016 field work of Benjamin and Michael. Two of Norway’s top-risk sites were investigated to gather data on thermal and hydraulic forcing on large rock slope stabilities with permafrost as well as on further rock mechanical testing and modelling. The sites are located in Troms (Gamanjunni, top & middle picture) and Møre og Romsdalen (Mannen-Børa-Complex, bottom picture). The campaign was carried out within the CryoWall project, funded by the Research Council of Norway, were the TUM cooperates with local partners of the University of Oslo, NGU, NVE, MetNorge and Statens Vegwesen. Without support from various project partners, the field work would not have been possible: Johannes Leinauer, Paula Hilger, Bernd Etzelmüller, Martina Böhme, Jogerud Kjell Reidar and Thierry Oppikofer.
